Where I work (a pet store in my hometown), our leopards eat one-two crickets and one-two mealworms (small) every day, and they're only about 3-4 inches long, granted, we only feed them once a day, but they all seem to be eating. We check them about 30-60 minutes after feeding them, and if they haven't eaten any of the crickets or mealworms by then we remove them from the tank.
Also, if you feel bad about not feeding him only those two superworms every two days, don't. Just keep an eye on him and be sure he doesn't become lethargic, or pale in color. Watch around his nasal area, and make sure there is no discharge, as long as you can see that he still has enough energy and is healthy, then keep going as you are. Yes, if you feed ANY animal too much they could (and most likely will) become overweight. Just keep an eye on him as I said, and if he becomes lethargic at all or sickly in any way, try feeding him a little more and/or call a veterinarian that specializes in reptiles. This way, you'll know that you're doing the right thing no matter what!
Good luck. Any more questions, just ask at my e-mail (nsaneknutkase@yahoo.com). Have a great day!

You don't feed Geckos everyday. They are in a tank, not in the wild where they can run around and expend energy. Everyday feedings for captive Geckos is not necessary and results in overweight conditions most often. They require fewer calories in a tank in captivity. If you do feed every day, it should be small crickets or larvae.
And you need to put some variety in there. The staple should be crickets or other "mature" insect forms, with occasional waxworms or other prey. Larvae/worms all the time is not healthy. They are too high in chitin, fat, and have a poor calcium to phosphorus ratio.
Most people end up OVERFEEDING reptiles, not underfeeding them.

Leopard geckos will thrive on insects. A staple of crickets along with occasional waxworms and mealworms make a good diet. Adult geckos can also be fed an occasional pinkie mouse. Juveniles can be feed every day and adults every other day.

I would feed my leopard's about 1-2 times a week. If I tried to feed them daily they wouldn't eat the worms and the worms would just die. You can buy crickets too and put some in the tank, then the geckos can eat them as they catch them if you are concerned.

Reptiles don't need to eat every day because they have slower metabolisms and more efficient digestive systems that humans and other animals do.
That means, they get more nutrition from less food.
Really, he is getting just enough.
Don't feed him anymore than what you were told.
