Babies adjust to their surroundings. If you have a noisy household, they will learn to sleep right through it. If you surround your house in quite, you better be prepaired to keep it that way when she/he is three! Better to adjust now than try to later!

Let me give you two examples...I am a doula (childbirth educator), breastfeedind educator, and a lifecoach to teen Mom's. If you live in a noisy environment during pregnancy, your child is already used to it. It you use death metal music to calm you during pregnancy, it will calm your child after birth. If you use Bach, that is what will sooth the child.

Next, I am the birth Mom to five children (The foster Mom to many more). My oldest daughter is a music major, and is still in marching band. From the time each of our children were born we would go to hear her play at concerts, football games, etc. I should mention she was drum captian! We have been to more drum line concerts than I can count! Yet, each of my children when born could sleep right through the entire drum line practice in my living room, or in a concert hall. They would sleep soundly through cheering football games. They were raised that way and used to it.

So, don't worry about your neighbors or the nosie. Keep it as it is when you were pregnant and you will have one happy little camper!
Congratulations on your new little blessing!

The baby will adjust to it's surroundings. I have three kids and know that it is always smart to have plenty of noise around when the baby is sleeping. I'm not saying have a party or anything, but the more quiet you are when the baby is sleeping, then thats what the baby is going to get used to. Then you'll have to tip-toe around for half its life scared to wake it. Not a good idea...just go about you regular schedule. If your still concerned then I suggest getting one of those noise makers for infants that have different sounds. You can adjust the volume and choose what sound you want to hear. My friend has one of those and it works wonders for her.

Believe me the baby will adjust. If you tip toe around a child then they will always s have to have it very quiet to sleep. If there is sound in the house then the child will get use to having to "tune" out the noise and go to sleep. Also babies can usually sleep through anything they may startle but they do sleep.

The baby will adjust to the noise level quickly.
We used to live near a railroad track when my last son was born, and the train noise and whistle never bothered him when he was sleeping, even though the pictures on the walls would rattle sometimes.

if you are living in this enviroment before baby is born then the baby has already heard a little of what to expect...your baby will adjust and sleep right through it...my 8 month old sleeps right through his very noisy 5 year old brother and 3 year old sister and we live right next to a railroad track and trains are going by all the time and it doesnt even faze him or my other 2...so i wouldnt worry too much about it...

The baby will adjust, just think of all of the noise they are used to in your womb...heart pumping, constant sounds from the stomach and intestines...not to mention whenever you talk. The baby will be fine, it's you who won't sleep for fear the baby is waking up...lol

Good luck and congrats!
