I was wandering of all of you how man were spanked the old fashoned way: with your pants down and smacked on your bare butt. I was right up until I was 13 (I am now 17) sometimes I was spanked with a belt on my bare butt. My 3 year old daughter is most of the time good, but if she is bad I have to spank her and I do it that way with her pants down on her bare butt. So was anyone else spanked this way? On your bare butt?

Yes, and its not a good thing to do. It leaves marks, and if you have marks its seen as abuse.

You should NOT be spanking a 3 year old female child on the bare butt. When she goes to school next year and tells a teacher or counselor, you may be facing abuse charges and end up in jail. When you get there and the inmates find out you are a child abuser, your butt is going to get "SPANKED" three ways from sunday by some big guy named Leroy.

Yes. I was spanked pants down bare bum. Sometimes with belts. I don't think its wrong to spank your kids, if they are really out of control, but not a big HARD spank. Just a tap on the bum to get the point across.

uh i was spanked and im 13, i was spanked wen i was smaller for lying and stealing make up from my older sisters. and not usually on my bare butt, perhaps on my panties or sumthin...

Yes, I think it was the only way mom knew, on the bare butt with a paddle. Up until I was 17.

Often times people mimic behavior they saw in their parents as they were growing up. They do this without really thinking about long term consequences of their actions. Corporal punishment (spanking) is an example... humiliation is another example. I would suggest exploring some other methods of discipline at your local library or through an on-line parenting periodical. Once you are well informed as to different styles and options you have at your disposal to provide correction for your child, I would be very surprised if you will want to continue to humiliate and inflict pain as your first method of choice. Also remember, effective discipline will requires the parent to be creative and tailor the consequences to the crime... REMEMBER... to love your child and send loving messages even if you dislike the behavior and must correct it.

I was spanked like that, horrible! Did you appreciate your parents doing it? I am sure you hated it and it was totally embarrassing. I BEG YOU, DO NOT SPANK YOUR DAUGHTER THIS WAY! You are only 17 years old, just remember how you felt while being spanked like that. I believe it is abuse. If you HAVE to spank her at all, just spank her butt, with clothes on. I get spanked and I hate it! he makes me stand in front of him and then he pulls down my pants and my underpants and puts me over his lap. He only uses his hand, but he does it until I cry so I try to make tears came as fast as I can.The worst is when he does it when my friends are over. He takes me to another room but they know what is going on. I have to say I probably deserve it most of the time.

Yes I know someone who was spanked with their pants down it was my boyfriend and he was 15 when it stopped he's now 21 but that was so that when he went to school the teachers wouldn't see any marks and call it child abuse when it really wasn't because displining your child shouldn't be a problem to a certain extent.

I was spanked bare-butt but I don't remember till what age.
I think it was only when I was real bad, and mom was real
mad. I don't like spanking myself, if I had a kid I'd try not to do it

Do what gets results. I was spanked (bare-butted when I was "really bad"), my kid gets spanked, also bare-butted. I guess I didn't grow up to be a serial killer, and my son is doing great.
By the way, the point IS to humiliate the child. You are the boss. And how bad is the humiliation, really? You saw her with her pants down at diaper changes. She will live, and will be a better person for it. Be consistent now, and be thanked by her later.
