OK, details: Ever since I began menstruating (at 13), I was irregular (could go 6-8 months without a period). Had first child @21 y/o. had 2nd child @ 23. After that, cycles went regular (clockwork 28-29 dy cycle). Had a miscarriage @ 27 y/o and had 3rd child @28 (May 2006). Had tubal ligation(July 2006-3kids is enough for me!). Diagnosed with a brain tumor on Aug 24 2006, brain surgery on Sept. 1 2006. Last year or so has been a traumatic time for my body I know, its alot to go thru in a short period of time. The tumor turned out to be benign but it caused damage with its growth (lemon sized growth in the inner medial aspect of the rt. temporal lobe, and its removal required a portion of my frontal lobe to be removed in the process). I did not require any chemo or rad. therapy. Heres the deal: I have just started my 3rd period in a month and a half. 1st one lasted 8 days, 2nd one lasted 11 days, and now tonite it starts again! I am in alot of pain too.

I just had a pap test last week, the day after my 11 day period ended. Results came back normal. WTF is wrong with me? If it werent for the fact that I am understandably sick of going under the knife here of late, I'd go have them just take it all out and be done with it. I want to curl up into a ball and die. Is or has anyone out there had a similar problem to this? And if so, what have you or are you doing about it and what success have you had?

Oh, and I did have an ovarian cyst at one point after the birth of my second child, but no problems with it specifically. I think my brain tumor screwed up my whole system. My Dr doesnt think much of it, as all my pap tests came back good.

Also, I am on several medications: Lortab for headaches due to the brain surgery and nerve damage/pain (which ironically doesnt even touch the cramps), Tegretol for siezures, topamax and neurontin. I have tried to see what if any side effects these meds together can have on the reproductive system.

I had eratic and long lasting periods when I was younger due to norplant. We went to lake powell for a month and stayed on a house boat and I didn't want to bleed the whole time so my doctor put me on some medicine to stop my period while we were there. You should ask your doctor if there is something like that for you

Don't worry dear. I will always pray for your good health. I know you are depressed with your health but remember that there are a lot more people suffering out there. Be thankful to god. Be blessed always.

i think that you should probably really go to the doctor because sometime the constant bleeding/irregular cycles could mean a serious desease such as cancer!! You should see a gyno immediatley
