Zito was a good off season pick, but it still remains to be seen how big of an impact he will be for the Giants.

The other Barry will continue to bring bad publicity to the team. Unfortunately, he is the only real offensive (emphasis on the word "offensive") threat they have.

Overall, I don't believe the Giants will go far this season. They might make it to the playoffs but that is highly dubious. In the immortal words of Jim Mora: "Playoffs?!!"

It will be very difficult for the Giants to get even the wildcard spot with the lineup they have, and not to mention, with Benitez closing for them (they need a better closer, seriously). Even if they do get in, I feel certain that they'll get eliminated in the first round.

I am sorry for sounding so cynical. Believe it or not, I really like the Giants.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the upcoming season. I will be following the Giants along with you.

The SF Giants need a new GM. Then the SF Giants will finally have a chance at getting their first ever World Series Championship. I could talk about all the players but seriously, the problem is Brian Sabean. He's an idiot. Thanks and have a nice day.

If Bonds stays healthy and plays in about 110-120 games we will be fine. Our staff is young and only going to improve, and with him consistently in the lineup and healthy teams will go back to walking him. The only thing that scares me is our closing situation, but if Wilson wins the spot I'll be happy. I think they should let Lincecum have a shot at winning the closer's role in spring training cause he is down right nasty. However, Benitez scares the crap out of me.

they will sell out all the games at home because of the 'homer watch' they spent too much money for one pitcher who doesnt have the overpowering fastball...that said, there is some talent on the team and they play in arguably the worst division in baseball, hopefully they keep it together long enough to get in the playoffs...

They could be a great team, but as long as they curry favor with Barry Bonds, they will never meld as a team and will never win their division. Too bad too, because the potential is there.

Chow!!

i have them third in the nl west, but not finishing far behind the dodgers and padres...i think they have the talent to win the division, but in the end they have seemed to have difficulty keeping up in the past couple years...plus, i think the whole situation implicating bonds with steroids cast a large shadow over this team, he makes the team more media circus than competitive ballclub

the only good participant on the full team is Aaron Rowand...an import. the the remainder of the offense is impotent and the protection is basically about non-existent. could I difficulty to show that the pitching has been lit up for the main hits and the optimal era of the Spring? i assume I basically did.

They'll win games but the Dodgers and Padres are still better overall teams.
