My BF and I had unprotected sex on the 14th of Feb. I looked at an Ovulation Calendar today and that just happened to be my most fertile day. I was supposed to start my period about Mar. 1st. But what I thought was my period started on sat. 7 days early. On Friday I had a headache and stomach ache same as Saturday. I had heavy bleeding for the first two days then today it tappered off and it wasn't alot at all. Normally today would have been the heavy day. Now the color is pink I have been tired the last week or so and my BF thinks I am pregnant. We went and bought a pregnancy test but I am too scared to take it. Do you think this is implantation bleeding? My BF and I have done some research and it's hard to tell. I know we need to take the test but I want to take it when it's most accurate. When would be a good time to test? We both are adults and are in our 20's.

Take that pregnancy test. If it comes out negative, wait a week and try again. Don't be scared. I was when i first bought my pregnancy test. I was even to scared to look at it. My bother in law had to tell me that i was pregnant.

I know it scary, but you have to take the test.

thats the only way you will know for sure.

This could be implantation bleeding, but that type of bleeding is not normally heavy, but usually a little spotting. Implantation will most likely begin occurring between days 6-12 after fertilization of the ovum. The other possibility is that you have had a miscarriage. Many pregnancies end before the mother is even aware of conception. This may come in the form of an early heavier period, or maybe a little late. Extreme tiredness can also accompany a miscarriage. The best thing to do is to take a pregnancy test as soon as the day you were supposed to get your period. If it is positive, go to a doctor and tell her/him about what occurred. They will most likely do a "quantitative" HCG test. This will identify the amount of HCG you have in your blood to see if a pregnancy is continuing, or has miscarried. HCG levels go down in the days before and and after miscarriage and grow increasingly higher in the first trimester of a healthy pregnancy. A vaginal ultrasound will also determine what is happening in your uterus.

Implantation bleeding usually occurs 6-10 days after fertilization..It is usually light pink or brownish in color and is not usually heavy (but everyone is different) Wait until you are due for your period (even though you bled) and then take the test....If it comes out neg and you are still unsure get a blood test done...they are more accurate and will tell you either way...Good Luck!

It sounds like just an early period. Implantation bleeding is usually very scant, just light pink spotting for less than a day. I would take the test though, just to be sure. You should be able to test now with a test that gives you results up to 5 days before your missed period.
