I have to do this in order to use an online application and have unsuccessfully searched the "Internet Options" part of the Tools tab on the file menu at the top of the page.

I am also expected to know the Internet Explorer version I have. How do I find the version?
I tried and failed to find the Internet Explorer version by going from "All Programs" to "Accessories" to "System Tools" to "System Information" to "System Summary" to "Internet Settings" and searched everything in there to no avail.

Summary - help me find these 3 things:
How to enable 1. JavaScript and 2. cookies and
3. find my Internet Explorer Version

My gratitude is extended to anyone that can help me with these 3 things.

To find your version go to Help and click About Internet explorer. That is almost universal in applications so if you need a version number of most any other app that's generally how to find it. Help > About...

Go this way in internet explorer

Tools->Internet Options
Click on "Security" Tab.
Select "Internet" in zones
Click on "Custom Level"
Scroll down almost upto 75%
You will find "Scripting"=>"Active Scripting". Make sure to check on "Enable"
Press OK.
and JavaScript is not enabled.
