I know that there is a law that passed and its called something like, "Ambers Law" something like that with a name in it. It has to do with putting the abusser in jail and making them stay there for a 24 hour period, then seeing a judge and the judge makes the decission if they can get out on bond or not, depending on the suverity of the abusse. My state does not have this law and I want to try and get it started, but I need to know the name of the law first.
Does anyone know?

Just want to add that my state is Missouri, I do have a new attorney, my old attorney made a deal with my ex's attorney to sit on the case or I would of already had custody of my son. My new attorney says it is to late since it happened in July.

California has a comprehensive domestic violence law(s); when such violence occures the aggressive party is out of the house by law until the court orders differently. All visitation is off and should the aggressor return, even for a toothbrush, they are going to jail.

Go the the California DOJ homepage and search domestic violence laws.

Good luck, also, many attorney's are required to do "pro-bono" (free) community service; make some calls, get an attorney, try female attorneys and I'd bet you'll find one who is a prior victim herself and is a bit pissed also....:)
YOU'LL NEED HELP WITH LEGAL DRAFTS TO SUBMIT TO YOUR LEGISLATURE..SPELLED THAT WRONG....
good luck.

I believe you are looking for Jessicas law and it is not just any abuse, it has to do with missing children specifically. I also believe it may have been first implemented in Florida because of a 2005 case where a young girl named Jessica was kidnapped and held just a few houses from her home and the guy that took her confessed and they didnt have enough to hold him on..
