How can I print a background color on an HTML page?

I am creating an HTML page with a background color. When I try to print the page, the background color does not. Does anybody know the code to print the background color in HMLT?

In Firefox, in the page setup menu, there's an option to print background colors and images. Not sure about IE.

I haven't explored it, but what happens if you specify the background separately using @media print in the style sheet?
