The horn is also on this circuit and when I replace the fuse the horn is barely audible. Any ideas?

You've got a 'short' somewhere. Unfortunately, these are fairly difficult to find. But, hopefully you can find the wire from your horn and follow the wire to find a place where the insulation has been 'stripped'. The portion of 'stripped' wire in touch a piece of metal. Resulting in a 'draining' of your horn. Maybe this will fix your cigarette lighter problem also. Good Luck

Replace the horns and the lighter. The horn is not working so it may blow the fuse, but it needs replaced anyway. You say the fuse blows when you use the lighter, it is either the wrong type of lighter element or shorted.

the wire going to the radio aint supposed to run the lighter too dont try using a bigger fuse as this might cause a fire do u know where the loom for the cigarettee lighter is if u do use that theres a live for the lighter an earth and a live for the dash light arond the lighter if not run a switched live (the live that switches when u turn the ignitoin on) from the ignition switch with an inline fuse (10 amp) pick up an eatrh from any where wire up ure lighter if u want the light to work properly ull have to puch up a live from the bach of the light switch that switces live when u turn ure sidlights on (dashboard live) easy peasy m8

Your horn won"t be blowing the fuse, it will be the lighter socket itself. I've relaced a few in my career, it's the heat gennerated that bends the metal contacts inside and shorts it to earth. Replace your horn while you are at it as it is an M.O.T. item.

What are you trying to use IN the lighter, the lighter itself or some electronic gizmo?

Actually, your horn could be shorting out, and then if you use the cigg plug, its just enough to pull too much current and blow the fuse, I'd try unplugging the horns and seeing if you can use the plug. I dont remember what side the horns are on though, but you can ussually get to them if you take out the headlamp.

Buy a Bic lighter so you don't have to use the cigarette lighter and don't use your horn either God gave you two middle fingers for a reason.

Good luck.

install a inline fuse to the cig lighter, that way when the fuse blows it will blow that fuse and it won't affect ur horn

You probably have a short. If you are hunting it down yourself, good luck.
