You're daughter could grow a little bit more, but she's probably about the height she'll be for life. Instead of focusing on something you can't control, you might consider helping her manage her weight. If her weight keeps going up (as is the tendency for most of us) she will be high risk for many health problems and her height will be her last concern. Especially at the age of 13, girls are modeling after their mothers even though they don't always seem to be. You can help set a good example by encouraging her to talk walks or get some physical activities and eating well.

Why do you ask?
It's unlikley she will grow much more in height, if any more at all.
It is not unusual for 13 year old girls to have not started their periods yet.
But the vast majority of girls reach their adult height by their early teens.
However she is quite overweight for her age and height, statistically speaking, especially if her period hasn't started yet. Once her hormones kick in the weight will be harder to shift.
Is this why you are asking about her height? As if she will suddenly start to grow into her weight?
Pay less attention to her height and more attention to helping her bring her weight back into a healthier range and I'm sure she'll thank you for it when she is older.

I heard if you double your child's height at the age of 3, that will be an approximate full height.
I have a 14 year old daughter and 12 year old son, they go back & forth of who is taller. My daughter is about 5 foot and my son right now is a smidge taller, next week it will be a different story.
I am 5'9 and their dad is 6'. My mom's 5 brothers are all taller than 6', she has a sister that is taller than me and one that is about 2 inches shorter than me. My mom is 5'4. My dad is 6'1 and his baby brother is taller than him, but his other brother is 5'5. My 1/2 brother from my dad is 6'. My little sister is 5'6 and my baby sister (both 1/2's from my mom) is 5'11. It is tough to tell!

hi, not sure about the height, but at 5'2", she is about 35# overweight...
at 5', a girl should weigh 95# and add 5# for each inch...
if you add in the fudge factor of 10%, then she could weigh as much as 115.5#.
height is genetically controlled...a friend down the street many years ago ended up having a 6'6" kid and both tom and josie were about 5'5".

I have never heard of a person's age of begining a menstral period determine a person's height. The only way I have heard of to possibly guess a child's height when they are older is by looking at their growth chart at the pediatrician's office. Most pediatrician's are able to make a good guess by looking at a child's growth rate, but can never guarantee anything.

Height usually quits around puberty. You say she is 13. I can only assume that she should be expecting her period soon? So, she may still get a little taller. I guess you'll just have to wait and let mother nature take her course.

Not a good idea to lose more than a pound or two per week. It is very hard on your body to lose weight rapidly!! Best thing she could do is - GIVE IT TIME, go for a walk or 2 a day, cut out the sodas, no snacks after dinner. Small changes gradually work the best!!

I'd say she'll be 5'4". Just a guess. :) That is rather tall for a 13 year old girl. My son is 12 and he is about 4'11". I thought it was a good question, good luck!
