Why do you identify as a member of that group and what does that label give you that you can't give yourself?

I'm a bear

The only thing it gives me is a way to shorthand my physical appearance.

I only use this when posting on a dating site or something similar. That way guys who would look at me and say "YUCK...fat and hairy.....not thanks" can skim right past....not wasting my time or theirs. AND the guys who would say "Woof! That's my kinda papa-bear" will dig deeper to see if any of the truly important stuff between 2 people meshes as well.

I identify with the bear community. Why? Well I guess I'm more of a chaser than an actual "bear." I'm more of a cub, I guess, because although I have body hair there's not a ton of it. I do have facial hair and I'm kind of big. That's a polite way of saying I'm fat. I've always thought of myself more as a "behr" and that's usually someone who really isn't a bear and really isn't a cub. I read that somewhere. LOL.

I've always been attracted to furry bearded guys. And in the bear community, there are average bears, big bears, muscle bears, and their cub counterparts. Bears and cubs tend to be very friendly, tactile, and cuddly. That's me to a "T." They also tend to be very accepting of others.

And before I forget, the community also has otters (thin bears) and wolves (loner bears). They're just as woofy and hot as all the rest!!

I'm definitely a geek... Why? Because I go to one of the best engineering/science schools in the country and because I plan on taking organic chemistry for fun.

What does this label give me that I can't give myself? A Label.

I don't really regard myself as any particular person in regards of my homosexuality. We are just like any other group, really. We are all gay, but we all have different likes and dislikes. i don't like President Bush, but I'm not going to label myself as a Bush hater. Why should I label myself by my likes and dislikes. That doesn't do anything for me. I'm human... there's a whole spectrum of personality and identity to me. Labels aren't good enough. They don't fully express who I am sexually or spiritually.

I do not identify with any labels.Remove the labels and liberate the man.If you listen with one ear you cannot hear all that you can.If you see with one eye you cannot see all the whole picture. But if you listen with both ears and both eyes you can behold the whole person.I am a NATURAL GENERIC MAN AND SO ARE ALL OF US!I am who I am centered with our world but the world does not center around me.I cannot give my self any label for if I do I deny my humanity and so my identity which cannot be appreciated by words.I am a flowing of awareness and also your brother.

HEY, just because the may have gone "down" on a few Sailors doesn't make them a sub-culture or have anything to do with subs and the Navy.
