Should I trade Carl Crawford and Vladimir Guerrero for Carlos Beltran and Travis Hafner?
Edit: In response to a few queries... the rest of my lineup looks like this... Michael Barrett (CHC), Derrek Lee (CHC), Josh Barfield (CLE), Chipper Jones (ATL), Michael Young (TEX), Hideki Matsui (NYY), Nomar Garciaparra (LAD), Jorge Cantu (TB), Jhnonny Peralta (CLE), Dave Roberts (SF), Jeremy Hermida (FLA)
Thanks!

Keep the speed, Barfield and Roberts are both on new teams so you don't know what role they will take on offense yet.
Other than that it doesn't look like a major upgrade either way, other than your opponent who will get speed without paying a price. And by that I mean, he really isn't giving up anything to get SB's and you should see what he is willing to do for a little speed. Offer him Roberts for someone fairly good, see if he'll go for a lesser deal. Torture him a little but make him pay the price for not drafting speed in the first place.
Don't let him off the hook and get back into the race. He should pay for his drafting mistake.

No. This trade at face value appears even but unless I am mistaken, Hafner is only utility eligible in most leagues, making him worth slightly less. Also, Crawford and Beltran, I rank as dead even, fantasy value wise. Thus, is Hafner worth more than Geurrero- I say no.
You have other guys with power like Lee to help you there but only Roberts for steals. Do not make the trade.

Absolutely you should do it. In fact, I would trade either Crawford or Guerrero for either Beltran or Hafner, straight up. The fact that you'd be getting both is highway robbery.
You'll see a drop in steals (Crawford should have a bit more than Beltran, Guerrero should have many many more than Hafner), but you'll see a huge gain in HR and RBI (Beltran should have many many more than Crawford, Hafner should have a bit more than Guerrero). Batting average and runs should be pretty similar.
Make the trade before your partner realizes his/her mistake.

I definately think you should do this, Guerrero is always an injury risk and I think that Travis Hafner is one of the most under rated players in the league who could break out with David Ortiz/Ryan Howard numbers this year. Beltran is a 5 tool guy also. Do it.

I would hang onto Crawford and Vlad. Beltran has been a little inconsistent over the years and Hafner's not as good as Vlad. Vlad and Crawford are consistent players who always put up decent numbers. You're probably going to be in better shape with them.

If you need speed on your team don't do it.
If you need Power....do it.
Me, I would not, because I think Vlad and Beltran basically cancel eachother out, and that leaves Hafner for Crawford, which I think is a bad trade. Crawford is a 5 category player who will put up more total points than Hafner.

I wouldn't. CC is a legit 40-40 threat much like Beltran but without the injury bug that has bit Beltran recently. Plus hafner is only available in the util slot unless that has changed.

NO WAY...Crawford will have a HUGE year as he is gaining his POWER stroke to go along with his SPEED, and VLAD is a HUGE threat to put up numbers every year. Beltran will have a good year, but not better than Vlad or Crawford, and Hafner will have a good year with the Indians offense running on all cylinders, but you can only use him as a DH/Util!
Stick with VLAD and CRAWFORD

I don't think I would do this trade...you have Lee, and Garciapara as firstbasemen, how would you fit Hafner into the lineup along with those two. Maybe you sit Nomar, but he just may have a great year. Why don't you throw him into the deal to get another starter, or a closer. Just a thought.

it depends on teh rest of ur team. if u have some speed players on ur team, go ahead. if u already have serious sluggers, dont make the trade. its that simple. the overall value is equal, as beltran and hafner kick *** in home runs and rbi, but crawford and guerrero can steal and hit as well. if u have at least 1 dominant speedster, pull the trigger. if u dont, stick with ur guys
