Ask the spouses to line up for the buffet in rank order with the highest rank first. Be careful that you state the request correctly--those with the highest rank should be at the front of the line.
Hopefully you have the highest or one of the higher ranking spouses. If you are NOT the spouse of the highest ranking officer than have them 'in' on it.
Have the person who has the highest ranking spouse instruct all the people that it is the SPOUSE and not THEM who has the rank. Yeah--rank has privileges and all but they are the support staff. As spouses we are all EQUAL. As people who love those who are serving our country with their lives we need to support each other--not jockey for position with our spouses rank. Have the 'first' in line bring the 'last' in line to the front and then y'all have a nice feast on your snacks.

If you want a 'game' try making a list of locations people have been stationed (base names or countries) and then have a match up-- something like this:
_______ lived in England but not in New Jersey
_______ lived in Japan but all offspring were born in Europe.
_______ lived as a child on an island but never in Hawaii.
_______ went to Mildenhall before Travis.
This works if you have info on the people or can get an info sheet circulated. If not, you can make it generic--naming bases or countries so people can circulate trying to find out who was stationed in Alaska. See if you can find out some unique info--it is great to learn who is a second or thrid generation 'brat' because there are things only a 'brat' would understand.
It is fun to learn where others have been and make connections through our experiences.
Make sure and let the folks know that their job is just as important--they are the support staff and the reason our military fights. As St Patty rid Ireland of snakes, may our fighting men and women rid the world of wrong.

Mike Maloney comes to a decision to propose to his lady buddy Sheila on March seventeenth. while the great day arrives, he gets down on bended knee and flips open a reasonably little ring field. She takes one seem and cries, "You affordable so-and-so! that isn't something yet a cubic zirconia!" He says, "this is Saint Patrick's Day! i presumed you will like it if I gave you a sham rock!"
