You know how they say that or "Look at the mom and you'll see he in 20 years.." Well, the thing is, my mom is a very beautiful woman. She is 39 but looks 29. She has olive skin, deep blue/green eyes, black hair. Very small facial features.Think Demi Moore... I, on the other hand, don't look like my mom at all. I too have blue-green eyes and olive skin but I have medium brown hair...Think Angelina Jolie. I mean my features are big like Angelina Jolie. I have big eyes, big lips..
I don't look like my dad either. So, does this apply?

i dont think it means that you will look exactly like your mother it just means that you will age and gain weight like your mother.

to most people i think yes. my mom is very pretty also, but shes heavier and taller than I am and she always been a larger person, I'm smaller framed than her, but in the face we look SO much alike! My sister on the other hand got all the down side. lol shes over weight and her face is a different shape and she has blue eyes and bad acne like my dad did. I think its true in some cases but others, NOT (like you for example) LOL

Don't worry-- you have the basic features....
Genetics is weird. Some daughters look nothing like their mothers-- the dad's genes seem to have gotten the lion's share of control over the features!
It has happened frequently in my family that daughters just DON'T look like their mothers....

It depends how well you take care of yourself. She doesnt look 10 years younger because she tanned out in the sun everyday and smoke pot lol. Just take care of yourself and youll end up beautiful. Plus some genes may show up later in your life from different family members.

there's something to be said about how you age with the Like Mother Like Daughter statement. What is meant by that comment is it sounds like your mom looks young and chances are you will too at her age. In short, means aging well.

If you don't look like her now, you probally won't look like her then.
But, I think you are being too literal. It is more how you age...meaning if she is aging "gracefully" than you probally will too.
That being said you have to take into account things like lifestyle, the care you each take of your skin, etc. Do either of you smoke, do drugs? What is your level of stress. If you walk parallel lives than you will probally age like her...if not, than you probally won't.
While I do look like my Father, I have began to look more like Mom as I have aged. However, my health is much better than it was at her age, and I take better care of myself. If you look at pictures (or doctors reports) of us at the same age, you will see the differences.
Just remember, you are you...no matter how beautiful you think your Mom is, you are just as beautiful! Enjoy who you are and don't worry!

I think that saying is talking about how moms and daughters are similar emotionally, not so much physically, because I don't look like my mom very much, but we are very much alike in how we think, talk, express ourselves, fashion, food, etc... She is my best friend.

I have my dads coloring, dark, dark, and dark, and my moms features. My mom has a fraternal twin that looks like her polar opposite. My half brother looks just like my dad.

I think those sayings apply to personality and behavior more than looks.
