how would a Intel Pentium D Processor 915 with Dual Core Technology(2.8GHz,800FSB) work for a gaming computer when the graphics card is a 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro?

Intel is never a good combination with anything in a computer. Get an AMD chip. The Radeon x1300 pro isn't very good for gaming. You'd be much better off getting an x1600pro. They aren't much more expensive, and have much higher performance. Also, what bus is this card going to run on? And you can't get a realistic idea of performance off of the CPU and GPU alone, what else is going in this system?

Upgrade the Graphics Card, get as much memory as you can afford

Not the greatest but it should work fine...I'm guess u have atleast 1gb of ram?
