I need to remove a dvd burner from a dell dimension, it wont slide out the front and to long to come out the back what do i do?

Remove the side panels of the case. Unscrew the drive and unplug all the cables. Push from the back straight forward. Or you might have a screwless case, in which there should be a couple of brackets that you can pinch together in the front (remove front of case to see) then slide the drive out.

PS. Dells are known widely in the world of those who are computer literate as not worth buying or fixing when broken, which happens frequently.

You may not treat this as a good answer, but if you find it difficult to remove the drive, call the Dell Tech Support team and giving them your e-mail address, ask them to mail you the steps on how to pull the drive out, along with diagrams depicting the same.
In-fact, Dimension desktops don't use screws. Some don't even have clips. They are just placed in there firmly. If you are finding it difficult to pull it out, it must be stuck there due to dust.
Disconnect the cables and move the drive a little to the right and then a little to the left and then try to pull.
And I am sure they can send you a detailed mail, because I was working with Dell Dimension Tech Support team for Canadian customers. :-)

Open the case and learn the configuration of the 1st one till now u makes any alternative. Them u screw the different from the backside and replace with the hot one. undemanding as that. P.S. confirm the gadget is turn off and the potential twine is plug out till now u start up, additionally examine the coaching sheet that u have been given with your new force.
