inside your hard disk are platters(disks)of very smooth metal surface spinning at very high speeds(normal pc@5,400 rpms, higher end systems@even 10,000 rpms)with read and write arms hovering very close to the surface of the disks.these arms have endpoints which marks the surface of the disks with a magnetic charge through minute eletrical impulses.areas without magnetic charge are read as zero's and those with magnetic charges are read as one's,hence the binary format of 1's and 0's.but over time these surfaces lose their capability to hold a charge.that is when the areas or sectors go "bad".these areas are then "marked" by you operating as bad sectors.they will be isolated and nothing will be written on these areas.at present, there is no way to fix bad sectors, because the material itself, the metal surface of the platters have changed its physical properties to hold and keep magnetic charges.fixing bad sectors usually means recovering the recoverable data written on it and transferring the data to another good sector of the disk.my advise to you is to get a new HD while you can.because that hd will die when you least expect it and lose all your data as a consequence.hope that helped.

oftentimes a undesirable sector is generated whilst the disk is unable to hold particular techniques in that part of the disk. now and returned its generated from the certainly pc; ie: it lost techniques a technique or the different in a undesirable crash and it categorised it as a bas sector. Othertimes it must be a broken area of the strain, the two it have been given scratched whilst the pc replace into moved violently (happens in laptops lots) additionally if the strain replace into wiped out. it is secure to think of that the disk would could get replaced because of the fact the worst case subject is you broken the strain. yet whilst the pc has failed you are able to attempt reformating the disk. by skill of doing this it is going to the two test for undesirable sectors and attempt to repair them. The restore option isn't obtainable once you nonetheless have records on the strain using aptitude danger to lose the records. I had a tension that stated undesirable sectors, I reformated it and it nonetheless works high-quality after 6 months. Its well worth attempting in the previous you pass out and purchase a sparkling hard disk drive!

when you scan your hd and it detects the bad sectors it has to mark them as bad so no more data can be written on them. once a sectore goes bad I don't think it can be repaired. it is a sign that your hd is going bad. if I where you I would start backing up my hd to another one or at least the files you don't want to get lost when your hd crashes completely.

Either you dropped your harddrive on the floor, or it's getting old.
Buy a new one, when you start getting bad sectors, your entire harddrive is gonna go bad.
