I'm going to London for a week in mid-July, and am hoping to see a game, but would love to have a brief understanding of the game before i go.

Dear Ms English Soccer Girl, Before I read the other six answers to your question I really felt bad about how I felt about my answer. Now I don't. I am going to be honest with you. The only thing I can say positive about Cricket is - it cured my insomnia. I honestly tried watching it seveal times and as God is my witness I fell asleep. I apologize for not being able to give you more insight but now, at least, you know how to cure your sleeplessness.

one team bats and gets points (runs).there are many ways to score pionts.the other team then goes and chases those points.
