The best way that I know to check your math work is to reverse, or do the opposite procedure. If you are adding numbers, such as; 15 + 25 = 40, then check it by doing the opposite of adding...subtracting! Simply start with the sum (40) and subtract 15. That should give you the remaining number, 25. So, 40 - 15 = 25...it is checked!
When multiplying say, 15 x 25 = 375, remember to check it by doing the opposite procedure, division! So, 375 divided by 15 = 25...this is checked for you!
Checking your math is simply backtracking to see if you used accuracy in your process. Best of luck to you always.
