When an animal that is close to you dies, do you feel like you still see them somewhere or you still know that they're with you? This gorgeous husky my parents friends owned had to be put to sleep. I feel like he's still around though. It's hard to explain.

Absolutely. I lost a pair of dogs one day when my boyfriend locked them in their room and forgot to give them water. It was in FL, in summer, and he didn't open a window either. They died of heat exhaustion. I feel guilty when I think about them, because I feel that if I had gotten home sooner, I could have saved them. I am comforted alot though when I think that they died together and at least they were not alone.

Their favorite thing in the whole world was to ride in the car, and sometimes when I am alone, I think I feel one of them breathing on my hair when I drive. I get the feeling that they don't blame me for their deaths, which is a great comfort.

Yes! I read this story in Guideposts called At the End of the Day about this dog and this girl who had her, and when her dog was dying she prayed to God to send an angel to walk her dog over the rainbow bridge. It was so sad it made me cry. You could probably find it at www.guideposts.com if you're really interested. I'm a cat lover though, and I feel the same way about my cats. Like I dream about Bukuiet all the time, and my little kitty Goody. God always takes care of the little animals. ;)

I had a cat I loved very much and she died by being ran over. (We think) My mom found her and I never got to say goodbye. But every once in a while I feel a cat jump on my bed and lay between my feet. I have four cats but when I look down to see which one it is nothing is there...It's so weird but comforting at the same time. I like it.

yes i know that animals souls are left to look after us just as people are. i had a horse that i treated like a child. she ate chicken, bread or sandwiches, drank gin, soda, anything i had around her, i had better give her some or she was going to take it! she loved me unconditionally just as dog would have. i lost her to a severe colic incident in the middle of the night four years ago. i loved her so much that i still cry when i think of her. i know she is here... i can feel it! when i think of her alot and it really bothers me, i usually dream of her. it seems to put my mind at ease for a while. i believe i will see her again in the hereafter.

A loved dog is always near. Nikki, my dog of 12 years, just laid down and died on 1/14/07. I buried her. On 1/18/07 my neighbor came to my house. I didn't tell her about Nikki until the next day. She fainted...and later she said she saw Nikki that night. Nikki is always with me. It's not hard to explain...when you love something...it's always there. I don't see Nikki...but I must confess that I still talk to her.

Absolutely! I am lucky enough to live in an old 1800's church. We have many interesting things happen here. Lots of childrens voices and footsteps upstairs. Recently I lost my beloved 14 year old pet lorikeet named Pepsi. He loved kids! Especially little girls. Just a few days back we had a late night visitor ask me who was the little girl with the bird on her shoulder that was looking out the upstairs window when she was driving up our driveway. It made me smile! My little mate has found a buddy to keep him company!

find the words to the song 'old shep' Elvis Presley sang that song when he was about 13 and won a prize, it is so beautiful!!! i would send you the words but it's kind of long to write here.
i believe God gave us dogs for a reason, ''they'' say when God separated the animals from the humans He drew a line, and the last minute the dog crossed over the line and stood next to man.
I know when i am sad or feeling lonely, my german sheppard gets up and comes next to me and looks at me so sweetly.

Yes.. When my dog died, I felt like he was still in the room on my bed for almost a year. If you were close, the pets memory will always be there with you in your heart..

The picture you have up on the mirror of him is probably a good starting point as to why you feel that way
