80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Because we're not anywhere else.
As for you, if someone else was where you are, then you'd have to move over. You're purpose would then be to get out of the way.
But seriously, at the very least, a human being is meant to consume food and then contribute compost for the plants of the forrest and fields. If you aren't currently doing even that - then find a field or forrest and contribute.
Beyond that, you have a brain and a big stimulating world. Think of the last thing you loved to do (maybe even as a little kid) now think of the adult version of that and start working on developing your abilities in that direction (as long as it's legal).

thats correct - you do not have a purpose - actually, the only purpose you have is to survive and attempt to re-produce - these are the two strongest attributes in mankind...everyone does something to survive - either kiss the bosses *** or eat out of a garbage pail.
You were not put here for any reason, you just happen to be the product of your dads sperm and your moms egg (not trying to be disrespectful or anything like that). You just have to make the best of your time here.Lots of people never find there purpose, so don't feel bad...just enjoy the ride.

Our purpose here in life is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. Here are a couple of verses which tell us of our purpose: The first is 1 Corinthians 10: 31: "Whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." The second is Psalm 73:25-26: "Whom have I in heaven but thee? There is none upon the earth that I desire beside thee. (26) My flesh and heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever." Throughout the Bible there are verses which declare that our chief end in this world is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.

oh my please dont say that everyone has a purpose you just have to find your stitch ( the thing your good at) and run with it and let your imagination run wild.... sometimes it takes some people longer to realize their true purpose on earth... mine is to help the struggling now how im goona do that is up to me and for me to decide for myself... i would say trying thinking of what makes you happy (even though your upset now) and think maybe what kind of career realistically can help me achieve that goal were i will always be happy. I also know that changing or widing your circle of friends can help you learn a lot about yourself... i belive im a better person for just putting myself out there even though people may think its stupid... who cares what they think. You need to think about what it is you want and what you want in life... maybe think about the question what do you want to do for a living.... and i wouldnt reccomend picking a career that is out of reach or that is stupid.... some thing that reflexs your personality and then with it be creative me you... find your inner strength and last but not least be confident in who you are even tho others may not be.....

Out of infinite history all becomes possible. You are a creation made for your self, but your human essence demands you be more than your self. You do not have purpose because you are afraid of purpose; it extends beyond your self consciousness.
The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

THIS IS YOUR PURPOSE: to seek God and be found by Him, to know Him and to live yourself to glorify Him
AND TO ENJOY God (not to enjoy the world or those around you, but Him, He is everything you need and will satisfy you!)
If you can find a Bible or look it up online, look up Psalm 139
