I agree, even though I haven't seen the film yet. It is on my list of must-see films. I have seen many clips, particularly the ones of Jennifer's character, Effie White. The clip of her singing her hit song, "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" just blew me away. Jennifer put in so much power and emotion into that performance, that I knew she was destined for Oscar gold. I have always liked her since AI; I believe that she should have at least made it in the top three...or win. Jennifer's performance throughout the film, I believe, is probably one of the greatest musical/theatrical ones of our time. I hope more roles, great ones, will come along her way. You just don't see roles like these that much anymore. We need more of these.

I do,totally. And it´s not like she didn't have any competition (I mean Adriana Barraza in the desert scene from babel was so disturbing), she just nailed that performance like she had been acting for ages!!!
I still can't believe she came out of American Idol!!!. I hope she does much more stuff in the future, since there's a supposed "curse on Supporting Actress Award winners, generally they don't amount to much, or lose their careers (Hello! Marcia Gay Harden anyone?)...but I hope this is not the case for Jennifer. It's up to her to make smart choices in her career direction.

i absolutely agreed that she deserved the award for playing Effie White in Dreamgirls. Everytime she sang, the audience in the theather screamed, and at the end when they showed her in the credits, she received a standing ovation. I am very proud. That just show you dreams do come true. From losing American Idol to winning an Oscar, and Golden Globe. Big up to she.

i think of she would be in a position to. i think of Jennifer Holliday is extra suited however. Dreamgirls could desire to have called her to do a cameo. I easily have not seen the action picture or the point play yet I watched on You Tube the trailor for the Dreamgirls action picture and Jennifer Holliday making a track from the point overall performance and that i will tell Holliday is the extra suited singer.

I didn't see the movie so I don't know in fact the only movie I saw whose actresses came up for best supporting actress was Little miss sunshine so I couldn't tell you who should win though I thought Abigale did an awsome job I don't know in comparrison to the others
