Among the choices, not necessarily all of them
Plasiticine is a soft clay with oil and clay in it that does not get hard (softer when warm, stiffer when cool) that can be built up over time to develop details. Artists is usually green, kids comes in color. Used to make plaster molds for wax for casting.
Sculpy is a modern product that can be baked in an ordinary oven which comes in many colors that do not blend well, so it can be used for colored details.
Clays for pottery work range from stoneware to porcelain. The finer the clay the harder it is to work and the higher temperature needed to fire it. Clays which have a lot of grit in them (grog in the industry) will withstand temperature changes better.
You can check the cost of various clays by going to www.trinityceramic.com http://www.trinityceramic.com/template%201%20Moist%20Clays.htm which lists prices and gives information about various clays.
