Memory speed and latency timings??

Question

Is there a noticeable difference in performance between memory that is DDR2-800 and DDR2-677? Also, is there a noticeable difference between 5-5-5-12 and 4-4-4-12 timings? What is the benefit of having the higher spec in these cases?

Your probably won't notice the difference. You may see it in artificial benchmarks but as far as gaming and day to day activities, nope you won't notice it.
