well if they don't make a flip-flop sound, how can you call them flip-flops? And in my opinion... flip-flops SHOULD be cheap. I never pay more than $10 for a pair of flip-flops. Old Navy has the best flip flops.

It depends on a couple of things:
1) How you walk
2) Your shoe height
I have flip flops that are $2.50 from Old Navy and $100 flops from Coach, they all flop. I find that the higher the platform, the more flop - like the J. Crew flip flops...those are loud!

What part of the name flip flop are we missing here? LOL They are named that for a reason. We call them thongs in Australia, cheap or expensive they still make the same noise.

I like this silly question.
No, cheap flip-flops make more of a squishing sound. The good ones like Burberry, etc. are made of such a hard rubber that they make a very noticeable flip-flop sound.

All flip flops make that sound. It's just proves that it's a flip flop.
Cheers!
