They should probably add a player with some grit and toughness that can actually score. Gary Roberts has been the main guy rumored but I think that would be a mistake. For some reason people have lost their minds when talking about this guy. He's almost 41yrs old and is not having a particularly impressive year even though he's playing on Florida's top line with a very talented Olli Jokinen. I've heard mention of a 1st plus Vermette or Eaves, Ottawa would have to be insane to make that move.

Another name thrown around is Bill Guerin, I think he'd fit well in Ottawa but St. Louis is rumored to be asking for two 1st round picks and again that is too high of a price for a rental.

Personally if Ottawa was to go after someone I think they'd be smart to go after Owen Nolan. Guerin is a better scorer at this point but Nolan is tougher and a better defender. Nolan is better than Roberts on pretty much all accounts. Lastly but most importantly I bet Nolan would come the cheapest. Ottawa could likely get Nolan for a 1st rounder or Eaves or Vermette, not a combination of 2 out of the 3.

Don't fix what ain't broke. I think they should just stay the course. They have been doing quite well and after those 2 Buffalo games I think they can hold their own in the toughness department.
Mucklare has NEVER made a last minute good trade. Every leased player he has gotten for "a true run at the playoff" has flopped.
Mucklar....leave it alone.

It is rumoured Gary Roberts will go there or the Pens pending the waive of his no trade clause but I too think they are pretty good and could make a run.

I think they need to need to trade a younger player or 2 ( McAmmond ?) for a Gary Roberts, Bill Guerin ?....They need some veteran grit, and if possible trade Gerber for a stronger backup...I don't see this happening though
