yeah! i only buy "real" cartridges if it's an emergency, but i've used about 10 remanufactured cartridges and they've worked perfectly! i don't recommend buying those kits where you refill the cartridge yourself because it generally doesn't work and it's VERY messy!

Yes of course, however there are a few guidelines you ill want to stick to.

1. Always buy from a reputable place.
2. Ensure they have a full money back guarantee on quality and performance of the cartridge.
3. Before installing the cartridge (if it is an HP) Check the date stamp on the back of the cartridge above the copper contacts. If it is past a year old exchange it. This means the electronics have expires and may fail during the course of use.
4. Look for drill marks. If you fine drill marks (namely on a Lexmark, the cartridge has been simply refilled not re-manufactured)
5. When you first install the cartridge run a cleaning and diagnostic page, if you have several lines, breaks or gaps through the test then return the cartridge. IN a good reman almost every, if not every nozzle should be firing.

I really cannot emphasize enough, buy from a reputable dealer with a sound refund/exchange policy. Avoid online purchases when possible as when there is a problem some will charge you the return shipping.

I prefer to use the ink refill kits until the print quality starts to worsen, then buy a new ink cartridge. I have been able to refill the black cartridge on my printer up to about 5 or 6 times before having to buy a new cartridge.

It's fine to buy remanufactured print cartridges, as long as you are dealing with the right supplier. This company in South Africa are ethical and eco-friendly. Remanufacturing and refilling are more beneficial to the environment.

I gave up on ink carts, I use a Continuous Ink Supply System (search term) no mess, no fuss, great result for 10% of the price of original carts...its the way to go.

Been filling my own printer cartridges for 5 years and they work fine, you can only refill them so many times.

The short answer is NO. the remanufactured ink really isn't that much cheaper than new and overall quality is lower. Your best bet is to do little reasearch to determine where and when to purchase new.

Yes. Save the receipt in case of the freak bad one. Don't, however, buy the fill-it-yourself kind. They can break your printer.
