is it above average to touch the bottom of the rim in 8th grade(I'm white)?

And im not some skinny,tall kid, im 5'8

I guess it is above average for normal people, but if you want to play basketball in the high school level, I would say that is average. For instance I am a backup High School point guard for a AAA public school and I am 5' 9" and can dunk two-handed. That's just a reference you can use for yourself.

I'd say average. Above average would be dunking a ball one handed or even a miniature ball. A kid in my school was your height dunking in the seventh grade. Junior high is a time of growth, some grow faster than others and stop, while others take time and continue for some time. You're don't sound like a prodigy leaper, but keep working. (And the kid who was dunking in the seventh grade was also white, but that doesn't really matter much anymore does it?)

People are all different. I'd say most 8th grade boys could easily learn to jump and touch the bottom of the rim, they would just have to train for it. However, you're in 8th grade. Your body will hella change as you're turning into a full grown guy, so your abilities will get better if you keep training ^.^

Hey Dawg, Im with you, Im white and I can grab rim, and put down an alley oop if the pass is there, Im 5' 8" and white. So yeah Im with you, Is it unusual?

im almost dunking always get rim jimmed and im in 8th 5 10 and white so id say your on pace =]

i know someone who is 6'1" 9th gr. and he can barely touch the rim, hes white even tho that really doesnt have to do with anything, but yea it is for your height
