At this point the only thing bush can hope for is to prolong the war long enough for the withdrawal to happen on the watch of the Democratic President (destined to win in 2008).
Bush is needlessly sacrificing American and Iraqi lives so that history will not see him as having been defeated in Iraq. Such a pathetic, little man...

The scary thing is he thinks he is getting his strategy from God Almighty. He sees himself fighting the horsemen of the Apocalypse. He may be so delusional he thinks this war is winnable.

I really think this war can be won, but most mainstream Americans do not have the stomach for the type of war we need to wage. Most want it to be fought, but not to cost lives, either ours or Iraqi. They want it to be some clean little skirmish where we go brandishing little toy guns and the bad guys all say Oh, the Americans are here! We surrender!
Well, it ain't gonna be that way. We are dealing with people who would just as soon blow away their own family 'for the cause' as lose, and they can't be reasoned with. I've talked to guys who've come home from the front and they say fighting the insurgents is like stepping on cockroaches...stomp one and a hundred more run out. When you get a bad infestation of roaches, you bomb em. That's exactly what we're gonna have to do...drop a big old nuke on them and we'll stop this mess!
As far as what Bush is trying to accomplish, I don't know. I know I supported him at first, but I'll have to admit my view is getting a bit clouded with all the smoke that's being blown back and forth in Washington. They need to get out of the way, let our boys do their jobs, and get them back home!

In some perverse way, Bush is trying to save face. There has been no valid justification for this war whatsoever. It is a civil war and we need to butt out and let the Iraquis kill each other if that is what they want to do. Bush doesn't care how many American lives are lost. He just wants to salvage his glory. I was in the majority. I didn't vote for him. But because of our electoral college system, even though he lost the popular vote, he won the election and now this dunce is screwing us up big time.

To help the Iraqis build their own republic so that later we can get oil and an alley from them. Also to help the Iraqis destroy the terrorist threat. Also don't believe the media they lie alot. Really we are winning the war. The media just wants to remove words form a phrase to make something(or someone) look bad. Example: I did not kill him. The media would say I did kill him. My dad owns a business and the newspaper said something bad about the business and he called the editor and it turns out a x employ lied to the paper so he cleared it up. The next day the paper said worst stuff.

Bush is in there for a purpose. I trust the guy and he is doing whats best for America. YOu Americans base too much of your society from the ancient Romans, exept on how to win a war. Wars cannot be won is 5 years. They can take 50 or even 100. There is no quick victiry, but theres a long term victory. SUPPORT YOUR PRESIDENT YOU IDIOT!
