I have always heard that walking helps but in my case it didn't. I was induced into labor and they told me if I would get up and walk I would feel better. The labor stopped. They had to induce me again the next morning. That still didn't work so they took the baby by c-section at 8:30 that night.
If they want to induce you tell them NO!!! It is more painful than natural child birth. I never want to experience that again.

Well kind of. If you walk while dilated it helps get things moving. Gravity is helpfull when in labor. It helps the baby move through the birth canal. When cervix is dilated (about 2) WALK WALK WALK! It will help get things rolling!

Walk as long as you're comfortable. It works because of gravity. As you are up and around, the baby will come down slightly, putting pressure on your cervix. It's the same reason why women who have problems with early labor, are told to lie down.

Any Sort of exercise of the lower body helps in giving the bub to be a helping hand, from Sex, to walking.. Watch not to over exert yourself as you will need energy during the labour however walking helped my step mother for both babies. Best thing is to actually keep up the sex in the last few weeks which will inturn help with the stretching process.

Yes.
Walking does help to induce labor.

With my 2nd child, I went into the hospital, Thinking I would be getting induced (per doctors orders)...was already dilated to 3cm, and she gave me the option to try going into labor myself, Or get the Pitocin drop, Long story short, I chose to try on my own, And was told to walk the halls, well, I walked from about 10 am until 5:25 pm..off & on, of course..And he was born at 5:38 pm. :]

Best of luck to you.

Walking just helps things get moving..
I think it might have something to do with gravity

But also sex and orgams do to...the orgasm sends the uterus into contractions and if it is strong enough can start labor.

And squating to clean the tub did it for me

about 5-8 hours prior to the time my aunt was estimated to go into labour, she walked up and down the hospital ward and squatted each time she reached the end of the ward.

and if i'm not wrong, she repeated it til she was ready to go in, and of cos rested when she needed to.

of cos its different individually n u should not overwork yourself.

They say it does, but it didn't work for me. Maybe I didn't walk enough.
