Assorted thoughts on last night’s Oscar show:

It’s good that Martin Scorsese won an Oscar, but isn’t it funny how much he’s getting to look like Woody Allen? And that bit with Coppola, Lucas and Spielberg was funny, wasn’t it? (It’s better to give than receive, isn’t it?)

I was also glad Forest Whitaker won, but I’d been sure Peter O’Toole would get it because of his age.

Speaking of Peter O’Toole – time has not been kind to him, has it?

Jennifer Hudson did not turn in the best performance of the supporting actress nominees, but I was happy for her anyway.

Abigail Breslin looked very cute in her pretty dress and it was nice that Alan Arkin sat next to her.

The “thank you cam” was a great idea, wasn’t it?

Michael Arndt’s screenplay was great. Being humble is an admirable trait, but he deserves more credit than he gives himself.

Scorsese should have won an Oscar for Goodfellas

I think it's admirable that Michael Arndt believed in himself enough to quit his job to write the script.

I liked the bit with Spielberg et. al. Very Cute. I also liked the song with Jack Black and Will Ferrell (lots of truth to it!)
I don't see the resemblance between Scorsese and Woody Allen, though.
I also was sure O'Toole would win, whether he was the best or not. That was surely his last opportunity.
The speeches were quite dull this time. No one really stood out in my mind.
All-in-all it was kind of a Blah year.

I actually fell asleep halfway through - I fell out during the boring technical awards and woke up just in time to see Forest Whitaker and Martin Scorsese win!

I didn't even bother to watch that. There is no sense in getting caught in that drivel when I have better stuff to do. While the Oscar's were on, I was busy winning 2 softball games 15-2 and 22-2.

sure each and every thing is scripted and the nostril injury became into unintentional... yet come on... the spot became into so terrible and in the midst of a great PPV... We had to take heed to the great teach flounder on till he ultimately gets to Rey. Why no longer in basic terms have teach come out precise after the experience fairly of giving him the mic to assert, "I ignored you". Why no longer in basic terms have him come out and decide for Rey while Mayweather jumps him from in the back of knocking him to a knee and then getting some punches in. and what's up with a guy no longer being waiting to pull some punches? Breaking a nostril? That became into form of ludicrous. ultimately... do you rather think of in a genuine combat Mayweather could win? Did we forget it is the place enormous teach became into... education for boxing? he's in the perfect shape of his existence and there is not any way i could piss him off if I ever observed him in a bar. He'd whip the **** out of absolutely everyone... different than possibly Hornswoggle.

I saw a couple seconds of the Will Ferrell, Jack Black, and John C. Reilly bit, it was funny. But other than that, I didn't watch it and from what I heard it went over 4 hours, and that is way, way, WAY too long.

Cheers!
