It's like I got kicked there and only on one side? What could be the cause of that?

That is common and does happen to some men. I am 62 and I have had that pain every so often through out my entire life. I tend to think it is just muscle and tissue getting caught in some sort of position that they just hurt and eventually work their way out of that position.

It could be an infection of the epidimis, known as epididymitis. This is common especially when your immune system has been weakened from some other illness. You may require antibiotics to clear it up.

I get the pain when turned off too often

yea.that could cause it.thats a tender place down there.the only time i had pain down there,was when i had a hernia operation in my groin,and my right nut swelled up and turned blue.OUCH.
