I'm making a robot costume and I am looking for alternatives to buying expensive voice changers that people use for Stormtroopers, Daleks, etc. I know the best way to get a robot voice is through a vocoder but it seems non are battery powered. So I was wondering if I could use a robot guitar pedal for my voice.

Yes. Just get some mic-to- 1/4 inch converters and it will work on a mic and it will sound weird. It won't hurt anything it's all fine. How are you doing it? Are you just going to record some stuff or walk around with a mic all night?

Yes, I used a Boss Chorus Pedal on my voice once, I liked it.

It should work. You might not need a guitar effect if you run it into an amp that has effects
