If he is fair he will just give you a zero. If I were you I would spend this evening writing out why it is not a good idea to cheat and how this interferes with your own education. You really are cheating yourself. Maybe he will let you rewrite the paper if he truly feels you are contrite. If you were to do this in university you can be expelled from the institution. Everyone makes mistakes don't be hard on yourself. Live and learn. Good luck.

If you're in grade school, the penalty will probably just be an F on the assignment. In college, there are very strict rules about cheating like that, and students who plagiarize can receive an F in the class (not just on that assignment), or even be expelled from the university. In the professional world, you can be sued for using other people's writing without their permission, and if you have their permission, then you have to mention that you got that information from them. But like I said, you'll probably just get an F on the assignment. It's okay to study together with your friend, and most teachers don't mind if you help each other out on your assignments, but you each need to do your own work at the bottom line.

You will get a 0 for sure. You could get in school suspension or expelled or after school detention. It all depends on how important the paper is and how many times you have done this before. Tip for future: if you are going to cheat (which you shouldn't) at least make sure some of the answers differ.

Well it does depends on the school. But if its not your first time probably only a fail and maybe a detention. I wont get expelled! Unless its copyrighted wrote so dont believe that. Seriously your teacher will split you grade, fail you, or make you do it aain. also depends on how strict the teacher is.
Dont let people on here fool you! Just learn from you mistakes. It will be okay.

Plagiarism is a crime if it is directly linked to an academic achievement (some form of award). Punishment

if its a school grade, then it may be a telling off, with alternative work required,

If its for your main grade, then you will probally haceto resit the whole subject again.

If it is for a college grade, you may be expelled from the faculty, or be asked to return the following year.

If its for your degree, then its a very public bum spanking, and expulsion from the university.

If is part of your masters, then public humilitation will include nudiety or local press as well as being sent to coventry in any further academic activity you may wish to persue.

Hey, you can't be in high school or uni, aren't you? If you are, you should know what kind of punishment you will get. A warning, a demrit point, or even expelled from school.

In the first place, why would you cheat for you test/exam? Good luck.

you will probably get a warning about how it is wrong to cheat and copy. since she let you, you won't get in trouble for plagerizing (copying someone's work without their permission and without giving them credit). it will go on your record, which makes it sound all big and scary but really it doesn't mean sh!t.

i was accused of this senior year even though it never happened and they called our parents and the teacher and the principal and we all had a little "conference". really stupid, you get over it.

honestly though, don't cheat. just do the work yourself, cuz what if you actually knew more than the person you were cheating off of. its better to learn the stuff yourself cuz yeah you get the grade then, but next semester when the teacher is building on what you were supposed to learn, you're only gonna be farther behind.

It depends on many things; what grade you're in, your school's policy against cheating/plagarism, and what the importance of that assignment is (if you copy your term paper is bigger than copying some answers for a worksheet).

You could get a warning, or be suspended or expelled.
If you're in higher education, ie. college or University, then you get kicked out.

There could be many serious consequences. If you're not usually a troublesome student you might get off easily.

Both you and your friend will probably get a zero on the paper. It's actually nice that the teacher wants to talk to you about it - at least it shows that your teacher cares about you. Your best bet is to admit you did wrong, explain that you slipped or whatever and that you earnestly won't do it again and that you really do want to learn and do better.

Your punishment was that you cheated yourself out of a learning opportunity...and earned yourself zero points.

I don't know how your teacher plans to handle this, but it may just be seperating you and your friend...keeping you at opposites sides of the room during written work assignments. And a zero.

Hopefully you will avoid ripping yourself off in the future.
