Having just turned 53 I can tell you , you can look forward to being more you in your own skin, more at peace with who you are as a person and not so readily to have to explain to others who you are and why.

The little aches and pains may show up, you should get more calicum into your diet and have a baseline test for osteoporosis. It doesn't always show up so you notice.

Keep as healthy as you can, eat well, exercise, find your spiritual outlet whatever that is .

Make sure you do the medical check ups, mamograms , heart ekgs etc.

Keep involved and au current. Your partner is aging too.

Seen the new Dove commercials featuring older women, if you need role models look to them.

They say that 50 is the new 30, but truth be told I wouldn't want to go through my thirties again even if someone paid me millions of dollars to do it.

I like who I am , what I have become and who I am evolving into.

Savour your wisewoman!

I'm not too far behind you! I try to see it as, well, age is just a number! I know that's been said a lot, but really, it is. I certainly feel a lot younger, and people mistake me for my daughter's older sister all the time, so that makes me feel better, too. I guess just concentrate on doing the things you love to do, keep in shape if you can, and don't think of that number. People, especially women, are living well into their 90s and even beyond, so turning only 50 means you have half your life to live yet. I hope this is helping, because in a few years I'll be there too. Just live your life, be active and happy! =)

50 is still good. You will still look young. However, menopause won't be pleasant. You will be looking at erratic sleeping patterns, morning, noon and night sweats--thermostat fights (your poor husband), irritability because you can't sleep, hair thins a little. Other than that life's good. This was my experience- may not be yours
