It is about wanting to find something even though you're not sure what it is and how to find it, and how sometimes it seems as if you'll never get to it, but the hope keeps you going.
This was first released in 1982 on Whitesnake's album Saints 'N' Sinners, but it was written in 1981 after touring the UK.

It's called Here I Go Again.
It's about a loner, a drifter. Hence the lyrics: "Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone."

it means that he is on his own with no girlfriend anymore b/c she left him b/c he was a loser for being in a horrible band and know one likes him and this time he has it go solo with no one else thank you very much that will be 5 bucks please thanks
