I see a lot of questions on here like, "where can you find a tiger cub?" or.. "how much would a gorilla cost?" but why can't people see that these are WILD and most of the time endangered animals, aand NOT pets!? A lot of these animals are near death because people are killing females, and taking their babies. Not only is it killing the mother, but it's killing the futur babies that she could have had. It may not seem like a big deal if one person buys a tiger cub at a flea market or something, but imagine people all over the world doing this every day. That's like killing 50+ tigers every day. And I'm not just talking about tigers.. I'm talking about every single wild animal out there. I know they look cute and cuddly when they're young, but even after a few months, no matter how tame they may seem, they are still wild. Many of these animals [babies or not] suffer and die shortly after being taken from their homes. Look at additional details.

When I lived with my sister, we used to foster wild animals that had been taken from the wild at a young age, and raised as pets until their "owners" got tired of them, or didn't realise what a big responsability they could be. We've had animals like moose, tigers, lions, leopards, bears, wolves, wild parrots, wild pigs, deer, a few zebras, and a pair of baby black lion tamarin monkeys. Many of those animals were endangered, and sadly, many of them were so tame, that they couldn't make it back into the wild. Luckily some have been donated to captive breeding programs, some are in zoos, and some remain in foster homes, because they do not know how to function [and could not be taught] in the wild. My sister continues her work with wild animals, but I found it too heartbreaking, and couldn't continue.

A neighbour of mine had 2 female german shepherd dogs and when they were in heat, he would leave them outside so that wolves and coyotes would mate with them. He had about 23 puppies, and he only found home for 17. As the other 6 got older, they were very agressive, and they were ill because the dog food they were getting wasn't good for them. He took the animals back from the people he sold them to, and got all 23 put down. Now if you don't think that's cruel then you have something seriously wrong with you!

alright people seem to think that I want a wild animal as a pet.. if you even read what I wrote, you'd see that I'm actually protesting against keeping wild animals as pets. so the whole.. "you can't keep wild animals as pets loser" I am aware of that.. loser.

yes i understand that if the animal is orphaned or hurt it's okay. like i said, my sister and i used to foster wild animals, and our goal was always to release them back into the wild. sometimes that's not possible though, and they should be kept where they feel most comfortable.
