The gall bladder does store bile that is made inthe liver. If the gall bladder is removed we can still live and digest fats, just not in the same amount. This is because bile is produced by the liver. When the gallbladder is removed bile is secreted directly to the duodenum of the small intestine thru the bile duct but only as it is made so large doses of fatty foods cannot be digested as easily and quickly.

The gall bladder is located in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen, next to the liver. It releases bile into the digestive tract which helps in digestion, especially for digesting fat. As far as I know, we can live without it because we make conscientious choices about how we eat. I had gall stones and had mine removed about 6 years ago. If I eat too much fat, I could develop serious liver problems, and eventually my liver could shut down completely. I suppose that other creatures can't be so finicky about their diets, i.e. a lion can't have salad for dinner.

The gal bladder is located underneath the liver. It stores bile. Humans can live without it, but have to be careful about what they eat.

i must say that from first hand knowledge that you can eat fat and not have a gall bladder and not die, i have been with out a gall bladder for 17 years.
the gall bladder is a small sac used to store EXTRA bile so that when we eat a large meal it empties into the intestines to help digest the food.
this organ was important to humans when we would only get one or two large meals a day,(during hard winters, when our species were still just primarily hunter gathers) now with the amount, variety and frequency in which most humans eat it is almost unnecessary.
this organ is very important to the lion, as it only gets one huge meal every few days, and it has to get as much digested nutrients as possible out of that one meal.

The gallbladder is about 7-10 cm long in humans and appears dark green because of its contents (bile), rather than its tissue. It is connected to the liver and the duodenum by the biliary tract.
Function
The gallbladder stores about 50 mL of bile (1.7 US fluid ounces / 1.8 Imperial fluid ounces), which is released when food containing fat enters the digestive tract, stimulating the secretion of cholecystokinin (CCK). The bile emulsifies fats and neutralizes acids in partly digested food.
After being stored in the gallbladder, the bile becomes more concentrated than when it left the liver, increasing its potency and intensifying its effect on fats. Most digestion occurs in the duodenum.
Though not needed without the gal bladder you can not digest ANY fats. Thus your diet is now one of a vegan on doctors orders to have your stomach examined daily for fats (now lethal to you).

danger factors for gall stones are: lady, obese, over 40, multiparous (have had a million or extra little ones). in case you slot into 3 or 4 of those 4 factors, it may develop the prospect of the undertaking being gall stones. Having gall stones, however, would not unavoidably provide you loads of the indications you're describing (heart burn, dyspepsia). this is achieveable the undertaking has to do along with your abdomen (possibly an ulcer) or this is a bowel undertaking (the loose stool / constipation mixture could desire to be irritable bowel syndrome - mixed form). in case you're taking NSAIDs, tylenol, or aspirin daily and function been doing that for a on a similar time as, it may develop the prospect of an ulcer. ultimately, in case you have ever seen blood on your stool - tell your well being practitioner. If no longer, request a fecal occult blood exhibit screen, that's an hassle-free (and affordable) way of sorting out no count if or no longer their is any bleeding on your top GI tract. i'm hoping this helps.
