Hello,

By answering this question and earning 2 points, I have now reached 10,000 points - Level 6.

I wanted to reach that level by answering a very good and interesting question which of course, yours is.

I have put all the details you have given us into my huge computer 'Deep Thought' and let it run for several millions of years. Of course you don't have to wait millions of years for your answer because I went forward in time in my machine, got the answer from Deep Thought, who has been going through time at the normal speed, and then returned.

I found the correct answer, but I also found, and I'm very sorry to have to tell you, that Yahoo Answers ceases to be in the year 3596. It will be replaced by 'Contact your great Uncle who passed away under the wheels of a 46 wheel taxi bus.'

Anyway, the answer that will give me my two points thus making me a Level Sixer.......WOW! is

1.347 inches.

The reason for this figure is because that is how long the ant's lead is.
If you had given it a longer lead - it could have gone a bit further - but you didn't.

Good morning.
Please send your most generous cheque to Slartibartfast.

The shortest route has got to be 2 - be they inches, centimetres, or whatever, because this is the shortest dimension - corner to corner - on the block.
Any other path is either 4 or 8, or the diagonal path between these points, which are all greater than 2.
But I am assuming you mean from corner to corner, otherwise the question lacks definition.

This question needs more information. Where are points A and B located on this wooden block?

If A and B are sufficiently spaced as to be located under alternate legs, it would not have to move at all, so the correct answer is 0

100^(1/2) or squareroot of 100 or 10
I'm assuming pts A & B are as far away from each other as possible on opposite corners of the block.

I agree with cubs.rock.i.rule. You need more info about the points' location on the block.
