I have to laugh at Red Sox fans like this chick above me. The Yankees try to buy championships? The Red Sox don't? I guess the $103 million for Matsuzaka doesn't mean anything. Yes, the Yankees have big contracts, but if I'm not mistaken, doesn't Manny Ramirez have two years left on his 8 year $160 MILLION contract?
To answer your question, other fans do make fun of the Yankees out of jealousy, plain and simple. Boston may have lucked into a wild card aided World Series win in 2004 when the Yankees basically beat themselves. They still haven't won the A.L. East since 1995. Teams are jealous of the Yankees money. I guess the Yanks are supposed to not spend it and just give it away. It's also funny to think that the Red Sox owner, John Henry was once a minority owner of the Yankees and he had no problem with the way the Yankees spent then, he has two (or is it three?) world series rings to show for it. People are just jealous that the Yankees are the biggest, most popular team in baseball, with the most history and success.
Listen how they talk "I hate their guts" and "shut the hell up". Classy all the way around.
When was the last time the Tigers won? C'mon man.

They make fun of us, yet, they don't have much 2 make fun of. They all say 2004. That't 1 time. I Yanks have had 3x more success than any other team. They think they have a right 2 make fun of us. It is funny, especially when they have about 2 things they can make fun of. 26, that's the only number that matters. It might take a whole century for a team to get 2 26, and by that time, the Yanks might have 100.
Oh yea, u guys have 2 celebrate Leauge championships, casue you'll never win a real 1. Do u ever see a banner for an American Leauge championship at Yankee Stadium. Hell no. The Yankees have won more WS than most teams have won pennants.
Also, for my dear friend georgie, it's been 22 goin on 23 years sice the Tigers have won. They're as much of a storied franchise as any other team.

It sure is. No one has the right to say Yankees suck because the Yankees are the best team in sports. They obviously don't know what the word sucks means. The Red Sox will never be at the Yankees level. They make fun of the Yankees that the Yankees suck, yet their teams suck even more. They will probably hate the Yankees more when the Yankees win their 27th World Championship. So, it is hilarious when they make fun of the Yankees when their teams don't hold a candle to the Yankees.

I enjoy the Sox-Yankees bantering, especially living here in Sox country being a Yankees fan. Was really great during the 5 game sweep last year:)
Seems funny how the Sox fans whine about the Yankees spending and lately they seem to be doing just that, spending like crazy. 101 million for Dice-k and his 'gyroball' that turns out to be nothing more than a 'slider', nice pick up there Red Sox nation.

I can't stand when they do that. The Red Sox do it but one teams fans do it soo much now when they shouldn't even say anything. The fans of the Detroit Tigers. They think they're hot stuff just because they beat us in the playoffs. They were very quiet to us up until this past October. I love the Yankees and can't stand when others are just jealous of them and don't know what to do except talk trash to us! COWARDS ARE THEY!

Oh I know its freaking hysterical...especially now that the Red Sox are actually spending money the Sox fans are still saying we spend to much when they have spent more than the Yankees...I pity those Sox fans...it is sad they only have a couple WS titles...i wonder what that is like?

And the fuss, my friend, is that where are the yankees?
They most certainly are NOT American League Champions, are they? Of course not, The Tigers saw to that.

I've always been a Yankee fan...my daddy taught me right...lol
I guess other fans make fun of the Yankees as much as we make fun of the other teams...All I know is that I will always be a Yankee fan til I die...no matter what!
