How does it feel? Does it make you feel like you belong to something? (I am asking this from a human point of view and genuinely interested in nationalism and warfare)

Trying to create a debate is what intelligent people like to do once in a while.

Please - don't put yourself on some high horse and say you're actually asking this out of "interest":

Aren't you the same guy who put down every Christian on here by saying that if heaven was filled with them it would be hell?

Aren't you the one who asked: "Is Americans' knowledge of geography really poor or is it just a myth?"

And aren't you the same person who claims to either be American or European depending upon which is more suitable to your questions and answers?

The thing is, Barney, I agree completely with many of your views politically and religiously. If you're going to insult people, however, at least don't preface it by saying you're "genuinely interested". Don't call yourself "against bigots" either. Admit to your obvious intentions without claiming something you know not to be true. What kind of atheist/agnostic are you, exactly?

What do you mean patriotic? The most patriotism I see is on 4 July. Which isn't really patriotism since most Americans probably don't know what the stars and stripes on the flag mean. FYI: 50 Stars=50 States 13 Stripes=13 Colonies.

Well usually people only feel patriotic because they are proud to be living in the country that they live in or the country they are from. Sometimes others dislike how Americans act because they envy the freedom or opportunity that is available to an overwhelming majority of Americans.

You are not genuinely interested. Feeling patriotic is not reserved to just America. Anyone that have a nationalization to any coutry can have a feeling of patrotism. Asking this question was done so just to stir a heated debate.

I enjoy being patriotic, it does make me feel good to support our troops and defend the decisions my president makes. I like to express my right to be Republican and I even enjoy photoshopping patriotic pictures that end up looking cool and appealing.

Yes. Whenever I hear the Star Spangled Banner played at any type of assembly, including on TV, I get goose bumps! I love our country except for the idiot politicians.

Yes, I am proud to be an American. I hate war and I hate that we have to police the planet, but, we saw what happened after the first world war and we are determined not to let another Hitler happen again.
