No never change for anyone else. I love plum purple. Anyway purple and gold are royal colors and go together fine.

i would stick with purple what ever you like best its up to you, friends have a big impact in your life but they cant tell you oh i like this color change your favorite color, no im sorry but i would'nt do it because purple is a really pretty color and gold just sticks out, and you want to be your own person so do what you think is the best if it was up to me i would say stick with your favorite color

Don't follow the crowd! Be an individual and like what you like for why you like it without having to feel like you have to be like everyone else! Purple on! It's historically a color of royalty anyway, tell them that if they try to change your mind!
