Yes, you are absolutely right. When Buddha was asked after He got enlightenment of what He gained He said there's nothing. He was just made aware of something that was already there. This tells us that we are just not aware of other things happening inside our being. That's funny because we are so aware of the outside world because we can see it with our senses and most of the time we become so lonely because we do not get the things we want to have. But, inside of us, there is a hidden reality that we are not aware of...the cell divides and create new cells constantly and this is inspired by pure love from that Inner Intelligence. This is an amazing phenomena. This is just like when you thought a lover of yours or your better half went to buy you something very special and stepped out for a while to surprise you. At that moment, you looked for him and you found
that he was not there so you thought he went out and saw someone else, another lover maybe. Your mind became sick with sadness, despair, grief and anger and you decided to commit suicide.
Right when you are about to swallow the death pills, he arrived and told you the truth! This is funny how the lack of awareness can totally change our perception and our emotions just like that. I look at life and i laugh! This is so absurd, this life is very
funny. Only when you become aware of what it really is, that you change your mood from laughter to happiness, infinite happiness.

From another source...
There is a story that when Grimaldi, the famous clown, was on his triumphal tour of Europe at the height of his fame in 1805, a man went to a doctor. When the doctor asked the man his problem, the man explained that he was so depressed he constantly thought of suicide. He said he did not know how much longer he could go on, and he begged the doctor to help him..
"I have just the thing for you." The Doctor said, "You are very fortunate. Grimaldi is in town. Go to see him. He can make anyone laugh."
"But doctor," the man replied, "I am Grimaldi."
* Living usefully? Bah! I live because I choose to. I'm useless by choice as well.
* Die happily? That's part of living happily - As other's have said, the idea is to come squealing into heaven going "Whoa! What a ride!" still wondering what happened.
Not funny, but hey, they work for me. So Pptttbbtttbbttttttt to you! Nah nah nah nah!!! ;-)

PS: In seriousness, look to Zen - there is no suffering. Do birds suffer in bad weather? No. There isn't really anything beyond BEING - and that's enjoyable in and of itself when we can get beyond feeling sorry for ourselves.

In a small airline charter one passenger came out of the air plane and was complaining so load I could here even before she entered the terminal. As it turnout the heaters were not working, there was no drinks, no lites, no washrooms she was in every sense of the word MISERABLE.To my great disappointment I ended in the only seat available right next to this lady, in short whatever could be wrong was wrong. So to cope with this I force myself to sleep. I awoke to screamings as I focus my sight I saw what looked like two straight rows of lights as the air plane levels I realize it was the runway. On approach the tail end lifted and we were momentarily nose down and everyone screamed and as the pilot manage to level off, in great enthusiasm I should on top of my lungs " ALRIGHT DO IT AGAIN". Next day the same person set me aside and asked why was I in such great joy when we could have all been killed? my only reply was "they almost put us out of misery"

And who says we should live usefully?
Is death easier or better if you die happily?
Should we not do fun things, becasue they have no reason or we don't understand them?
You would enjoy suffering? Keep the pleasure to yourself.
It is really good for you that you see substance and humor in your statements.

You want to hear something funny about your life, check the monthly bills. Sometimes we laugh instead of cry.

Yes, it is absolutely funny, but life is not of the absolute.
The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

I think it's funny that you think there's something to be gained from enjoying the "meaning" of suffering.
I think you should suffer, and tell us how enjoyable it was to understand the condition.
Now THAT would be funny.
