It's completly different, serebii.net goes really in depth with it, but here's the basics:
+Now theres almost/is 500 new Pokemon
+There's more legendaries in the games than there were in any of the other games
+New TMs
+When you hatch a pokemon it starts on level 1 not 5
+new preevolutions
+New evolutions to pokemon like Togetic, Rhydon, Electabuzz

yes it is very differnet, plot, story, charatcters, pokemon, etc etc. .
plot: Diamond and Pearl are set in the region of Sinnoh, which is based upon the HokkaidÅ prefecture of Japan. Sinnoh is characterized by both mountainous and snow-covered areas, and contains three lakes central to the plot.
The game contains 107 new Pokémon and chronicles the adventures of a new Pokémon trainer who strives to become the Pokémon League Champion, collecting and training various species of Pokémon along the way. As do most games in the series, Diamond and Pearl feature eight Pokémon gyms led by Gym Leaders, professional trainers whose expertise lies in a particular Pokémon type. Gym Leaders serve as bosses and reward skilled trainers with badges of merit, key to the advancement of the plot.

It's a totally new game...new Pokemon, new region, new plot, all that jazz...plus, I assume it will have new controls, since it's for DS.

Totally different!!! There be return of RSE/GSC/RSE/ Mmons and new evovlution for thsoe but also totally new pokes region bad guys.

Also there are sub types of move and new abilities plus it for DS only
Also the graphic are way cooler. But if you don't have money or little unsure wait for it better version to come out like reb blue yellow came out

new region: Sinnoh, different because there's more legendary pokemon to be caught, can see every pokemon in one version, but can't catch all in one version, bad guys are named Team Galaxy :)

yeah! i saw it on the internet!!!!! and the new pokemon! but the thing is it is DS and i dont have one so i have to look on ebay ! i hope the thing is cheap
