My God these people are judgemental. If you want to be friends with this guy then go for it. If you want to have an affair with him, then go for it. If you just want to be friends then go for it. Enjoy your life.

Well, I can tell you that it is probably his intention so you should just cut it off. A 40 yr old guy shouldn't be hanging around a 25 yr old for any reason, especially if one of you are married. If you continue, you will cause some major damage. If you are guys are serious about being with one another, than someone should do the right thing and break it off completely with the spouse before pursuing anything. That will be the test - is the person who is hooked up willing to give up what they have to be with the other person.

I do not think this is ok.
There are different types of cheating. Physical and emotional. The type of time you all are spending together may not be appropriate.
It sounds like this relationship can turn inappropriate. I would not recommend becoming too much of a friend with a married man that is older than you.

What is it that you are interested in him for? Why is he being your friend. In an ideal world this is possible. But in real world it can start in genuine manner but then there is something which u both are not sharing (atleast here on the site) which is the real reason why you are together with him. i think you are not married, do you look good? is his wife ugly? how many years to his marriage now?

It is not a good idea. You need to get away from this man. Well intentions are just intentions. Things have a way of happening and you both will fall into an affair if it hasn't happened already.

I think you should ask his wife's opinion if you really have no intention of being a mistress. I would not be ok with my husband have a female friend that much younger.

I have male friends of all ages. In fact, one of my best male friends is 43 (i'm 27). As long as you are only friends, there should be no problem with it. The only problem I can forsee is if the wife is the jealous type. Then he may be in for a long bumpy road. It all boils down to what type of personality his wife has, how "friendly" you two become, and whether you and the wife can get along with you being friends with her husband.

you may not want to cheat and he may-and despite good intentions, accidents do happen....
i dont trust a man who needs a female friend younger than him in the midlife crisis age bracket...sounds like he might wanna become a suga-daddy .....he has a wife! if he cant talk to her, they need PROFESSIONAL counseling, from a neutral third party.....
male friends are okay...just drop back about 10 years, closer to your age bracket....
in other words...LEAVE THAT MAN ALONE. i think you already know that bcuz of the catagory you posted your question in....

No it is not ok.
Would his wife and kids think it was ok?
Would she have you over for dinner,
Would she be ok with the 2 of you go to the gym
Would his wife be ok with the two of you going to a movie and maybe a beer after?
PLEASE! Give me a break
Go away and leave him and his family alone

Friends? Yeah right. Stop being a flirt and a homewrecker and stick to your own age.
