If the cut is minor the hamster will lick it clean it self. A more severe cut needs to be cleaned with peroxide and put some antibiotic ointment on it. Only a small amount is needed because the hamster will lick it and may get a bit of looser bowels from doing so. Watch for any redness, puffiness or oozing, these are signs of infection and the hamster needs to go to the vet for antibiotics. I've seen hamsters get torn up in fights and all but one healed back to normal, the vet put that one down. Your hamster should be alright provided you check on the cut every day until healed.

There isn't much you can to other than rinsing the wound out. By now though, I'm sure it has already scabbed over.

Do not put anything in the wound. Not hydrogen perioxide, not antibiotic ointment. The hamster will instinctually clean (lick) it's wound and will ingest anything that you put on it. There is no product that I know of to treat wounds that is safe to ingest. Even a small amount can make a hamster sick, if not kill it.

What you should do is to make sure the cage is kept clean. This will lower the chance of infection. Also remove the wheel or anything else the hamster can climb on. The kinds of foot movements done during these kind of activities could keep opening the wound and lengthening the healing time.

There is no need to take the hamster to a vet unless you see that the cut is becoming infected. If the cut does become infected, the wound will probably need to be lanced and antibiotics prescribed.
