It appears the Neo-cons have taken over the Republican Party and turned it into a law an order fascist warring police state party. So whom do we Conservatives vote for now? How do you real Conservatives deal with this? Real Conservative being low fiscal spending, The Constitution, reducing the size of Govt. It seems very few Democrats want to reduce the size of the system, so we the original patriots who stand for freedom (not fascism) are now disenfranchised? Your opinions please.

For example we see patriot07 who is probably a Neo-con who thinks the Patriot Act is actually Patriotic when in fact its just a tool of tyranny. I think what I am trying to understand is how do we get away from this Welfare / Warfare paradigm and live like real Americans?

No you can't.
If you think back on all of George Bush's spending initiatives the democrat's complaint isn't that he's spending money, it's that he ISN'T spending enough!
Education
Medicare
Homeland Security
the list goes on.
To actually believe that the democratic party is that of fiscal discipline is crazy.

A true conservative would note for either of the two party as they are nothing more than proxies to the corporations. There is the Libertarian Party and the Green Party both viable alternatives to the two party regime. Both parties have platforms favoring true conservatives where as the two major parties say one thing to the people but work hard only for the corporations.

I am very much a conservative, and I'm disgusted by the way our country is being run right now. I hope the Republican party has a candidate that is worth my vote, but if not, I will consider a Democrat that closely matches the ideals that I hold dear. Republican doesn't always equal conservative.

Yes, but chances are you might've protest voted or not. However, let me remind you about the Libertarian Party and the Constitutional Party. Libertarians are usually socially liberal and fiscally conservative and Constitutionalists are usually pure conservatives. Both are for lower taxes and small government. I'm a moderate Libertarian because I took many political quizzes and they all say I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal. But for issues like illegal immigration, I'm conservative and for privatizing welfare, I'm a moderate. If you really want to send the Republicans a message, maybe you could support one of these options or have in mind Hunter, Tancredo and Paul. Thanks!

If people knew anything about libertarians they would run away from the two party system. all but the extreme wackos would understand the government is to intrusive in all aspects of our lives. and are not interested in helping just securing their power to spend OUR money and to live above the laws they hold us to

It seems that you can't, they don't want you. The ultra liberals have taken over a once great party. Kennedy, Roosevelt, Truman woud all be thrown out of the democratic party if they were alive today.

You can be anything and vote democrat. But as a conservative I will never vote for a democrat because of their inherent belief of their party. I am against socialism. Any party that communist or socialist align themselves with will never see my vote.
