Here's the story -
Everyday after wearing a pony tail, i'd come home and my head hurts a lot, I try massaging it but it still continues to throb. I thought this was because of the length of my hair, so I cut off about 7 inches. I only use one pony tail holder, and my head continues to hurt... What can I do to make it stop (besides drugs) and why is it happening? Anyone?

Well, you are probably pulling it back too tight. Even if you take it out of the holder for a few hours each day, it isn't good to always keep it up like that. Not only will it give you headaches, it can eventually cause you to start losing your hair!! So start trying new hair-dos... like a low bun on your neck (not pulled back tight) or a loose braid starting at the bottom of your scalp.. or just wear it down more often! Trust me, unless you want to start getting a receding hair line (i've seen it in 18 year old girls).. let your hair free!

I have very long hair past my waist,so I can certainly understand where you are coming from! I truly believe that when you have your hair up in a ponytail, bun or whatever,it causes you to get a tension headache because all of your hair is pulled back really tight! I have opted to get french braids that start at the top of my head, and go all the way down my back, because it doesn't hurt as much as having your hair pulled back really tight into a ponytail or bun.

I hope this helps and I hope you start to feel better soon, good luck!! ;-)

I had to find another way to keep it up because I too had headaches. Ask a hairdresser or get online.
