You can't take DSL anywhere, because DSL works through phone lines. However, you can have wireless Internet access at decent speeds for your laptop that you can take anywhere.

Most of the cell phone companies offer wireless Internet. You will plug their wireless modem and be online anywhere that you can receive the service's cell phone signal. Verizon, Cingular and Sprint/Nextel offer such services.
